
How to Prepare Before Your Permanent Makeup Appointment

Avoid alcohol and caffeine for 24 hours before your procedure to reduce sensitivity and bleeding.

Do not take aspirin, ibuprofen, or blood-thinning medications (unless prescribed by your doctor).

Avoid skincare acids such as retinol, AHA/BHA, vitamin C serums for 5–7 days prior.

Do not wax, thread, or tweeze your brows for at least 3–5 days before your appointment.

Avoid tanning, sunburn, or direct sun exposure for one week prior.

Refrain from intense workouts 24 hours before your session.

Come with clean skin, free of makeup, lotions, or oils around the treatment area.

If doing lip blush, gently exfoliate lips and keep them moisturized for 3–5 days before your appointment.

If you have a history of cold sores (Herpes simplex), take your prescribed antiviral medication 2 days before, the day of, and 2 days after your lip procedure (consult your doctor).

Get a good night’s sleep and eat a light meal before your appointment to stay comfortable.
